There isn't a supported migration path to move an existing FYI platform connected to MYOB Practice Management (formerly GreatSoft) directly to FYI as your practice management solution. A new FYI platform must be created after the appropriate GreatSoft data has been populated in Xero Practice Manager (XPM).
What is the migration process?
Complete the migration in the following order:
- Populate XPM with all appropriate data from GreatSoft.
- Create a new FYI platform to use FYI as your practice management solution.
- Connect XPM to the new FYI platform after the GreatSoft data has been populated in XPM.
- Migrate documents from the existing GreatSoft-connected FYI platform to the new FYI platform using Bulk Export AWS.
- Export and import applicable Custom Processes and their related configuration from the existing FYI platform to the new FYI platform. Related configuration can include Templates, Custom Fields, and Views where applicable. Learn how to export Custom Processes and import Custom Processes.
- Complete the upgrade to Elite as the final step by following the FYI Elite Onboarding Wizard.
Can users share access across the FYI platforms?
No. User access can't be shared across the existing GreatSoft-connected FYI platform and the new FYI platform.
What if the practice doesn't require XPM or Xero Tax?
If the practice uses MYOB Practice Management (formerly GreatSoft) and doesn't require integration with XPM or Xero Tax, this option may be suitable where the practice uses alternative tax software that doesn't integrate with FYI.
- Contact support@fyi.app to have the MYOB Practice Management integration disabled.
- The feature to add job states directly in FYI will then be enabled.
XPM or Xero Tax can't be enabled later on the existing FYI platform. If the practice needs to use XPM or Xero Tax in the future, a new FYI platform must be created, connected to XPM or Xero Tax, and the documents must be migrated from the existing FYI platform to the new FYI platform.
