XPM User Synchronisation Changes and What It Means for Your Practice

For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager (XPM), recent changes to Xero's API now synchronises Users from both XPM and Xero to FYI. 

What does this mean for FYI users?

To ensure streamlined management of your User List in FYI, we have made the default synchronisation setting for New Users "Inactive". Refer to Practice Settings General.

This will provide greater control and allow practices to activate only those Users that require access to FYI. Please note, inactive users will need to be activated by an FYI Admin before they will be able to log into FYI.

What do you need to do?

We recommend that an FYI Admin review your User List to ensure only those who require access to FYI are marked as active. To do this:

  1. Log in to FYI as an FYI Admin.
  2. Click Settings in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Select Practice settings from the drop-down, then select General.
  4. Go to the Users tab. The user list will be displayed. Active users will be displayed by default.
  5. Click the Unhide inactive users button to show both inactive and active users.

  6. Review the list of users. To activate a user: 
    • Individually: Select a user. From the User Drawer, set the Active option to "On".
    • In Bulk: Select multiple users, and click Bulk Edit. From the Bulk Update Drawer, set the Active option to "Yes". Click Run.
