Why is an email I filed in FYI not appearing in my Inbox?

Issue

I am using the desktop version of Outlook, and the emails I filed in FYI do not appear in my inbox.

Cause

If there is a sort function applied to your Inbox in Outlook, such as to sort by category, when FYI applies the "Filed in FYI" category to the email it will be moved to the bottom of your Inbox.

Solution

Update the view to be sorted by "Date" order to see the new emails at the top of the screen.
