November 2025: What's New and Improved

Whats New November 2025.gif

As the new year approaches, this month, we’ve focused on giving practices even more flexibility and control. This month brings smarter automations, stronger integrations, and small-but-mighty enhancements that help you and your team work faster, stay organised, and deliver even more value to your clients.

Two new powerful features were introduced to Automations this month:

  • Skip and Continue: We’ve introduced a Skip & Continue option when running automation processes, ideal for those moments when one step can’t be completed, but the rest of the process needs to run. For example, if a document can’t be located or a condition isn’t met, users can choose to 'Skip & Continue', and the process will move to the next step. This prevents interruptions, keeps processes flowing, and gives practices the flexibility to handle exceptions gracefully, without restarting an entire automation. Refer to Automation History.

  • Copy Document step: For practices on the Pro and Elite plans, we’ve added a new Copy Document Automation Step. With this new step, FYI can automatically copy a document created earlier in an automation or identified within the Process Filter. That means last year's Tax Planning document can be easily copied, including all the required details from the previous report. Practices can rename the document and choose whether to carry over the original filing details or apply new ones for a specific cabinet or category. Refer to Process Step Details - Copy Document.

We've also added the Addressee field to the Create and Update Client steps within automations, allowing process steps to personalise client names, such as in letters and emails, as well as when importing clients in bulk. For practices with FYI as Primary enabled, the 'Same as Physical Address' setting on the client record can also be used as a merge field to automatically update details. Refer to Process Step Details - Creating and Updating Clients.

For our practices based in the UK, two new integrations were announced this month:

  • Practices can now sync client and contact information with AMLCC. Clients can be added individually or imported in bulk, reducing manual entry and ensuring compliance data stays accurate across both systems. Refer to Integration with AMLCC (United Kingdom only).4607_Automation_Apps_AMLCC.gif
  • Xama AML is also now available. New and existing clients will synchronise from FYI to Xama AML, with four dedicated custom fields set up directly in FYI. These fields ensure that Risk assessment Status, Level and Dates are synchronised and clearly visible within FYI. Refer to Integration with Xama AML (United Kingdom only).

We’ve taken client collaboration to the next level with personalised sharing links using New Collaborate. When sending documents or client folders using Email Template Merge Fields, each recipient now receives their own dedicated link. FYI recognises the client automatically, prompts them to log in, and directs them straight to their files. If multiple clients are included in the email, FYI will display a list of each personalised link in the email, making it clear who can access what. Refer to Login Experience for Clients using New Collaborate.

Additionally, we’ve also made sharing from FYI even easier with new Copy Share Link and Copy Upload Link buttons, available from the Collaborate tab and Sharing Settings window, and displayed next to the name of each guest user. When you click one, a unique URL is copied for that specific guest user. When shared, the link will open to the corresponding SharePoint site, prompting the client to log in. These  Refer to Sharing the New Collaborate Client and Upload Folders.

For practices integrated with APS, CCH, IRIS or MYOB, FYI now automatically removes extra spaces from email addresses when client data is synchronised, keeping your data clean and dependable. If any addresses include invalid characters, they're notified with an Action Required event in Practice Activity. Refer to the individual articles for details on the synchronised fields for each system.

For our Elite practices, this month we bought a number of new features and enhancements, including:

  • New Controls for Invoices and Permissions: User Group permissions now include additional controls for Time and Invoices. FYI Admins can decide exactly which users can create, edit, approve or view invoices and time entries, adding an extra layer of control. For example, Partners might have full permissions; however, a cadet accountant may only have permission to view invoices. Refer to Managing User Groups.
  • AutoTime and Custom Fields: We enhanced the AutoTime automation step so that practices can now configure Time Custom Fields directly inside the step. When a task is marked complete, the time entry automatically inherits the correct values, for example, the Job Partner, Category or Engagement Type. Refer to Process Step Details - AutoTime and Process Step Details - Create Task.
  • Invoice Enhancements: Practices now have more control when creating and editing invoices, with the ability to reorder jobs. Simply click and drag to rearrange jobs within an invoice. The order will be retained on the Invoice Preview, and when the invoice is synced to Xero Ledger. Additionally, the invoice description can be expanded to full screen so that users can view clearer notes when editing and reviewing. Refer to Opening and Editing Invoices.
  • Employee Tasks: On the Home - My Tasks and Delegated Tasks tabs, users will now see Employee Tasks alongside client tasks, giving a full view of all active tasks in one place. Refer to Displaying Tasks from your Home.

To wrap up the month, we had a little fun along the way with a new round of loading screen puns, submitted by our FYI community! Keep an eye out for a laugh while your page loads, and thank you to all practices that contributed their creativity.

For all the details on these features and other enhancements and resolutions for this month, refer to the November 2025 Release Notes.
