Can I restrict access to the FYI email feature for some users?

Plan: Available: All plans

Users: Not Available: All users, User Group Permissions Available: FYI Admins

Practice Management Source: Available: All sources

Users in FYI are assigned to a User Group, which manages the permissions for the features users will have access to. The ability to create and send emails is available to all users by default, including FYI Admins and standard users.

There is no single permission that enables or disables access to the email feature. Access to emails can instead be restricted indirectly using FYI security and access controls.

Depending on how your practice is structured, you can restrict access to emails using one or more of the following:

  • Client Security – restrict access to all information for specific clients, including emails. Learn more in Client Security.
  • Cabinet access via User Groups – control which Cabinets users can access, which also limits visibility of emails filed to those Cabinets. Learn more in Managing User Groups.

These options allow practices to limit access to emails associated with sensitive clients or Cabinets, even though the email feature itself is available to all users.
