If the email address you use in Xero Practice Manager is different from your Microsoft 365 email address, you can use an Email Alias to log in to FYI with your Microsoft 365 email address.
To link the two email addresses, FYI sends a Magic Link to your authorised Xero Practice Manager email address. You must be able to access that mailbox and use the link to verify your identity.
For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, you must have access to the mailbox linked to your Xero Practice Manager account to use Magic Link and access FYI with an Email Alias.
If you use more than one Microsoft 365 account in Chrome, use Google Chrome Profiles to keep the accounts separate. Before using Magic Link, confirm you're signed in with the Microsoft 365 account you want to use as your Email Alias.
Linking an Email Alias to your FYI login email address
- Navigate to go.fyi.app.
- Log in with your Microsoft 365 email address.
- The message "No active user" displays. Select Different Practice and Office Logins to display the Magic Link option.
If the Magic Link option isn't displayed, you may already be logged in to a different Microsoft account. Log out of the other account, close the browser, then log in to FYI again. - Select "this link" in the line "This can be done using FYI's secure Magic Link from this link".
- Enter the active email address that you use to log in to your practice management software.
- Select Get Magic Link to send an email to your practice management software email address.
- Open the email you receive and follow the prompts in the email to verify the link.
Once you've verified the link, you can log in to FYI using the Microsoft 365 email address linked to your practice management platform.
The email address you have linked displays as the Email Alias in your User profile in FYI. FYI sends email notifications to that email address.
To check which email address you're logged in with, select Settings in the top right-hand corner. This displays your name and the email address you're logged in with. Refer to Setting Defaults and Filing Defaults for your Own Login - My Settings.
