Why is Outlook displaying incorrect content in emails?

In some cases, when viewing an email in Outlook, the preview pane or the message body may display unexpected content, such as the embedded preview of a hyperlink, rather than just the text of the link itself.

This typically occurs when a hyperlink points to a website that includes metadata, such as a page title, description, or thumbnail. Outlook may display this information, instead of a link, causing the email to appear different from what was expected.

For example, instead of displaying https://www.example.com, Outlook may display a formatted preview such as:

Example Site – Your destination for examples
www.example.com

If you prefer that Outlook not convert links and display previewed information, you can disable this setting. Refer to the Microsoft Support article: Stop text from turning into a hyperlink.
