Documents and emails can only be filed to a single client in FYI, not multiple clients.

To maintain a single version of the document or email, users can create a Web Link for each additional client. The Web Link points to the original document or email, so users can access the same version without creating duplicate copies.

Note: Users can open the Web Link if they have access to the original client and cabinet where the document or email is filed.

Creating a Web Link for an FYI document or email

  1. Select the document or email you want to file against an additional client and click Doc Link. Refer to Copying, or Inserting, and Opening a Document Link.

A link to the document or email is copied to your clipboard.

  2. Navigate to the new client.

  3. Click +New and select Web Link. Refer to Creating a Web Link.

  4. In the Web Link, paste the Doc Link into the URL field.

  5. Update the filing details for the additional client.

  6. Click Create.

Copying the Web Link to multiple clients

Once the Web Link has been created, copy it and file each copy against the relevant additional client.

  1. Select the Web Link document.

  2. Click Copy.

  3. Refile the copy against the additional client and rename it if required.

  4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each additional client.

Accessing a document from a Web Link

When you open the Web Link using the Open icon, the document opens in a new tab.
