Displaying form template rules
Identifying fields with rules
The Show/Hide Rule toggle can be used to quickly identify fields associated with active rules directly in the Form Template Builder. This can be used to identify fields with an associated rule applied, without opening the Rules Builder.
Before renaming, changing or deleting a field, you can check whether it is being used as a condition or action rule.
To identify fields with rules:
- From the Form Template Builder, turn on Show/Hide Rule Badges.
- A green rule indicator icon displays on each field used in the condition or action of an active rule.
- If a field is used by more than one active rule, the number of rules associated with the field displays.
- Hover over the rule indicator, and then click only the rule indicator icon to view the name of the associated rules.
The remaining icons are used to manage the field itself. - Click Open in Logic Builder to display the rule details. Otherwise, click a blank area of the Form Template Builder to close the list of associated rules.
Displaying rule details
Opening the Rules Builder displays a more detailed view of the rules attached to the form, including their conditions, actions, and status.
To view the details of rules for a Form Template:
- From the Form Template Builder, select Logic, then select Rules Builder.
- On the left-hand side of the Rules Builder a list of all the rules created for that Form Template are displayed. For each rule, you can view:
- Name: The name of the rule.
- Status: Whether the rule is Active or Inactive. When Active the toggle is Green. If the status is Inactive, the toggle is Grey.
- Conditions: The number of conditions included in the rule. For example, one condition will display "1 cond".
-
Actions: The number of actions included in the rule. For example on action will display "1 act".
- Click on a rule to open and edit the rule.
