FYI Guide

FYI Guide is our in-app tool designed to help users learn and use FYI more effectively. It offers access to interactive checklists, guided walkthroughs, and key resources such as Learning Paths, Webinars on Demand, and Feature Updates. Users can also access additional resources from FYI Guide, providing extended support and opportunities to explore FYI in more depth.

Accessing FYI Guide

Click the FYI Guide tab displayed in the bottom-right corner.

The FYI Guide Drawer will be displayed, with links to checklists and walkthroughs, key resources, and access to a variety of tools for more assistance. Refer to Using FYI Guide below for more information.

FYI Guide Layout

FYI Guide initially displays the Home tab, with additional functions available by clicking the relevant sections below.

Function	Details
FYI Guide tab	Displayed in the bottom-right corner of FYI. Click the tab to display the FYI Guide drawer.
FYI Guide Drawer	The FYI Guide Drawer displays the Home tab by default, with a list of key resources and links for users, for example, access to Onboarding Checklists, walkthroughs, and webinars. Refer to Using FYI Guide below. If you’re using a smaller screen, hover over the drawer and scroll with your mouse wheel to see the full list of options. To close the drawer, click the down arrow in the top-right corner, or click anywhere in FYI outside of FYI Guide. The drawer will be minimised back to the FYI Guide tab.
News tab	The News tab displays highlights of upcoming events, including Webinars and the Automation Lounge, as well as news and important announcements. Refer to News tab below. If you’re using a smaller screen, hover over the drawer and scroll with your mouse wheel to see the full list of updates.
Checklist beacon	After starting a checklist, a new beacon will be displayed in the bottom-right corner of FYI, with an icon relevant to the current checklist. For example, Automations walkthroughs will display a cog icon. Click the beacon to display the Checklist Drawer. Refer to Checklists below.
Checklist Drawer	Displays a list of the steps for the current checklist. A progress bar is displayed at the top, with the percentage complete available in the top-right corner. Refer to Checklists below.
Feedback	Displays a small form, where users can submit their feedback and suggestions for FYI Guide. Refer to Providing Feedback below.

Using FYI Guide

Checklists

FYI Guide Checklists combine guided walkthroughs with practical exercises to help users build confidence when using FYI. Progress is saved automatically as each step is completed, allowing users to track completion and resume from where they left off.

FYI Guide includes two checklists:

• Onboarding – start with the essentials to get familiar with FYI, then move on to hands-on activities to use key functionality to create emails, documents, tasks, and more. Once a user completes the onboarding checklist, it will no longer be accessible.
• Automate Your Practice – guides users through implementing popular automations, including onboarding new clients, sending quarterly report reminders, and managing year-end compliance. The Automation Essentials Toolkit link will open the Help Centre, where users can download the Client Experience and Job Management Toolkits for more best-practice automation processes.

Click the relevant checklist and select a guided walkthrough to get started. Refer to Guided Walkthroughs below.

Note: The Onboarding checklist is available to new users only. Users who have been on the platform for more than six months will not have access to the checklist.

After you complete each walkthrough, your progress will be saved, and the step in the checklist will be crossed out automatically. A progress bar is displayed at the top of the drawer, with the percentage shown on the right.

To minimise the Checklist Drawer, click the down arrow in the top-right corner.

The checklist will be hidden, and the Checklist beacon will be displayed. The number displayed indicates the number of steps remaining to be completed for that Checklist.

To reopen the Checklist, click the beacon.

To remove both the Checklist and the Checklist beacon, open the Checklist Drawer and click Dismiss. A prompt will be displayed; click Dismiss to confirm your choice. The tick icon will be hidden.

Please note that when dismissing a checklist, your progress will be retained. The next time you select the Checklist from FYI Guide, the walkthroughs already completed will be crossed out, and you will be able to resume from the next outstanding step.

When a checklist is complete, it will no longer appear in FYI Guide, ensuring users view only the checklists that remain in progress or require attention.

Guided Walkthroughs

FYI Guide includes walkthroughs, an interactive, step-by-step journey that guides you through using various features or completing actions within FYI.

Click the step in the Checklist to begin the walkthrough.

Tip: Practices can enable Sample Content in their practice, to create documents and other actions against a sample client.

As you work through each step, key information will be displayed in pop-ups. Where relevant, click the blue button to proceed to the next step, or follow the instructions in the pop-up.

In certain steps, FYI Guide may draw attention to a specific feature on the page and display information about the corresponding function, along with step-by-step instructions. In the example below, the walkthrough highlights the Search bar, and the task is to enter the client’s name into the search field.

After following the instructions, the next step of the walkthrough displays automatically.

Click X in the pop-up at any time to close the walkthrough. Please note that your progress will be lost, and the next time you start the walkthrough, you will restart from the beginning. The walkthrough will also be closed automatically if you switch to a different browser window or program.

To save your progress, follow the walkthrough until you complete all the steps, and the checklist has been updated to cross off or remove that walkthrough from the list.

Learning Paths

The Learning Paths link directs users to the Help Centre, with step-by-step training journeys designed to guide users of FYI through specific areas of the system. For example, new users can follow the Learning Path 'Your First 30 Days with FYI'.

Feature Updates

The Feature Updates link lets users easily view all the latest releases and updates in the What's New section of the Help Centre, including announcements, Product Updates, and Release Notes.

Webinars On Demand

The Webinars On Demand link opens the Webinars section of the Help Centre, where users can explore our collection of webinar recordings for in-depth explanations and real-world applications of FYI's features.

Need Assistance

From the Need Assistance option, FYI Guide offers easy access to where you can find more information and request assistance.

• Platform Status: links to the FYI Status Page, where you can view details on any incidents, or subscribe to notifications.
• Help Centre: access to the FYI Knowledge Base, with detailed feature guides, frequently asked questions, and troubleshooting articles. The Help Centre also contains Learning Resources, Onboarding Guides, and custom Automation Process examples.
• Consulting Services: FYI offers consulting services to provide expert advice with automating your practice, getting the most out of the Elite practice management features, or general consulting for more tailored solutions.

Click the < back arrow in the top-left corner to return to the main page of the Home tab.

Providing Feedback

The Feedback link offers a simple way to share your ideas and suggestions for FYI Guide. Selecting this option opens a short on-screen form where you can enter the details. Click Next to submit your feedback.

Please note that the feedback will be submitted under the name of the user currently logged into FYI.

News tab

The News tab is updated regularly with announcements and updates to help users get the most out of FYI. When a new post is available, a small red dot will be displayed on the News tab at the bottom.

If you’re using a smaller screen, hover your cursor over the drawer and scroll with your mouse wheel to see the full list of updates.

Closing FYI Guide

To close FYI Guide, click anywhere in FYI or click the minimise icon. The drawer will close, and the FYI Guide tab will be displayed in the bottom-right corner. Click the FYI Guide tab to reopen it as required.
