The Summary Notification step can be used when an FYI view is used to trigger the notification. A notification will be sent to the selected user, with a link to the relevant view in FYI.
Summary Notification Step
The Summary Notification step controls which user will receive the notification, and whether a Custom Message is included.
The following is an example of the Summary Notification step.
In the Summary Notification step, update the fields as required, and click Save. Refer to Summary Notification Details below.
Merge Fields can be used to insert data from a CSV Import file or another source of data in FYI, by clicking the Merge Field icon. For information on using Merge Fields to insert data from other sources, refer to Using Merge Fields with Clients below.

The FYI user that will receive the notification. A specific user can be selected from the drop-down, or alternatively, Merge Fields can be used to dynamically select the user based on the Automation Filter. For example, selecting the Client or Job Partner or Manager, or when a Time filter is selected, the user that entered the time entry. |

Controls whether a message will also be sent with the notification, for example, describing the reason for the notification. Click the toggle to set the option to Yes, and display the message editor. Please note that Merge Fields are not available to use with the Custom Message. |
Examples of Summary Notifications

Using the Time Entry - View Filters and a Summary Notification, a scheduled notification can be sent to remind users about their time.
For example, updating the Automation Filter to select a Time list view filtered to Draft time entries, a Summary Notification can be sent to remind users to submit their time.

The Summary Notification can be used to alert users when there are documents in their Pending Approval list.
When creating this process, the Automation Filter Document - View Filters can be used to identify documents that are "Pending Approval".
The Custom Process can be scheduled to send a notification to each of the relevant approvers, for example, every 12 hours. Depending on the user's settings, this will get sent as an email with a link the Approver can click. The Link will take the Approver directly to the Documents list, automatically filtered to show only the emails or documents that are "Pending Approval" and with their name selected as the Approver.

Use the Job - View Filters and a Summary Notification to send out a daily Summary Notification to appropriate users if a critical change has been made to Jobs. For example, if a Job has moved to a certain State, such as "Ready for Billing", or if the Due Date of a Job has changed.
This can also be combined with Custom Fields for more advanced notifications, for example, create an alert when 50% or 100% of the Job Budget is reached.
