New employees are created automatically when new users are added to FYI. Depending on your practice, users may be added to your practice management platform or directly in FYI.
When the user is added, an employee record will be created automatically, with information displayed as per their user profile.
Creating Employees
Employees are created when new users are added to FYI, either synchronised from the Practice Management software or added directly to FYI.
When created, some employee fields will be automatically populated based on the user profile, while other fields will need to be updated directly within the Employee Summary tab. Refer to Editing Employee Details.
From Practice Management Software
You can add or edit users in your practice management software, and this will synchronise through to FYI. Changes will be synchronised to FYI overnight.
Note: An FYI Admin can manually synchronise users from Xero Practice Manager to update the user list in FYI immediately.
Directly in FYI
You can also add FYI users directly to FYI. This can be useful, for example, if you have support users or financial planners that you don't want to pay for a licence as users in your practice management software, but you want them to have access to information in FYI.

Editing Employee Details
Once the user has been created, the Employee will be displayed in the Employee List. Click on the Employee Name to open the Employee Summary and access the Edit Employee function.
