25.09.2025

New

  • We’re excited to announce a new integration with Vinyl, available to all practices on the Pro and Elite plans. Vinyl's AI meeting assistant captures and summarises key discussion points and actions, ensuring meeting notes are always clear and actionable. Using the integration, client data is automatically synced, meetings are linked to the relevant client files, and Meeting Records are created in FYI with a direct link to the Vinyl recording, ensuring your client information and notes remain seamlessly connected.  Enhancements

  • When converting Office documents to PDF, practices can now choose Convert with threading from the drop-down when manually converting from a Document list, or enable the Thread with Original setting in a 'Convert to PDF' automation step. Once selected, the PDF will appear first in the Documents list, with the original document threaded and accessible from the Document Drawer. Please note that this option will be toggled off by default for existing Convert to PDF process steps. Refer to Creating PDF Documents from FYI and Process Step Details - Converting to PDF.
     
  • Estimated and Actual Job fields are now available as Merge Fields for practices where Xero Practice Manager is selected as the Practice Management source. These merge fields can be combined with automations and conditional formatting calculations, making it easier to track job progress. For details on the merge fields, refer to Merge Fields Glossary. For examples of using these merge fields in an automation, refer to Job Budget Tracking Alerts.
     
  • When creating a Capacity Planning Report, a confirmation pop-up will be displayed to confirm that the report has been requested. Once the report has been successfully generated, a notification will be sent to the user with a link to access the report. If the report was unable to be created, a Failure event will be recorded in Practice Activity. Refer to Running a Capacity Planning Report, Making Adjustments and Refreshing the Report Data.
     
  • When filtering Lists, we have extended the new Relative Date Filter "Last Week (Mon-Sun)" to now be available for all date columns, including where both date and time are displayed. Refer to Sorting and Filtering Lists.
     
  • When using a Merge Field to share a link to New Collaborate, clicking the link will now prompt users to choose the account they wish to use when signing in to the SharePoint site. This improves the user experience and reduces the risk of errors caused by automatically signing in with an unauthorised account. Refer to Login Experience for Clients using New Collaborate.

Resolutions

  • When a Convert to PDF process step runs, the practice's OneDrive account owner is now used as the primary authentication source to ensure the step always runs. If the OneDrive account owner is inactive or removed, the Automation Owner will be used.
  • When running Automation Processes, we have improved the performance to reduce timeout connection errors.
  • When filtering the Jobs List using the Name (Multi) filter and there are more than 1000 unique job names, the matching results will display correctly.
  • We have resolved an issue where Comments created in the FYI Drawer were not saved if the page had not fully loaded in the browser.
  • When turning off Sample Content, users will be prompted to refile any client documents from the Sample Cabinet prior to the cabinet being deleted.

Enhancements

  • For practices on the Elite plan, we have introduced a new Merge Field, Trigger Time Entry User, available when creating an Automation Process using the filter Time Entry - View Filters. This new Merge Field enables practices to insert the user's name from the time entry into automation steps, for example, into the Summary Notification step to remind users to submit their Draft entries. Refer to Merge Fields Glossary.
     
  • We have enhanced the Zapier integration to allow practices to update existing Client Groups in FYI using the Create or Update Client Group action. Please note that a user with access to Zapier will need to update the FYI app in Zapier before the new fields become available. Refer to Integration with Zapier.
     
  • We have enhanced the following functionality when uploading a CSV file to OneDrive using Generic Practice Sync app:
  • For practices migrating from Practice Sync to Xero Practice Manager (Beta), the 'Prepare Activity Statements' and 'Prepare Tax Form' fields are now excluded from syncing from FYI to XPM. This prevents blank values from overwriting existing data in XPM. Refer to Migrating from Practice Sync to Xero Practice Manager (Beta).
     
  • For practices on the Elite plan, when importing Unbilled WIP, if the import fails with unexpected errors, a failure message will now display in Time & Invoices - Setup tab and the Import button will remain enabled. This allows users to retry the import after resolving any issues. Refer to Import Unbilled WIP Report.

Resolutions

  • We have improved the error message displayed when using New Collaborate to update the Display Name for a Guest User when the OneDrive Admin user does not have the correct permission on Microsoft Entra.
  • For practices on the Elite plan, the Update Employee Automation Step is now available when creating an Automation Process using the Employee - View filter.
  • We have resolved an issue where CSV files uploaded to OneDrive using Generic Practice Sync app failed to update client records due to a validation error. CSV files using standard templates now sync correctly.
  • For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager:
    • When bulk updating more than 100 jobs in XPM to a cancelled or completed state, or deleting more than 100 jobs from XPM, updates will be queued and synced on weekends to improve processing speed and prevent delays to higher-priority syncs during the week. We encourage users to make these changes in FYI for the best performance.
    • When a client is added to a new group in XPM, the update will now synchronise to FYI automatically (within approximately 15 minutes). Please note that updates to group details, such as changes to the group names, will continue to synchronise as part of the overnight sync or when a manual sync is requested.
  • For practices integrated using Practice Sync:
    • MYOB, CCH, APS, and IRIS will now synchronise the client's Salutation and Addressee fields. Refer to the individual integration articles for details on the source fields from each practice management system. Please note that to apply this fix, an FYI Admin or user with permissions for Automations must click the Flush Cache button in the relevant practice management sync app in Automations - Apps.
    • We have improved the CCH Job Sync to accurately match clients assigned to the jobs based on the client source ID, rather than Client Name.
    • When synchronising with APS and unable to find a matching client for a contact, errors displayed in the Practice Sync Desktop App will also be reported in Practice Activity in FYI.
  • We have resolved an issue where email attachments filed from the FYI Outlook add-in were incorrectly marked as 'Removed' and not filed in FYI. Attachments selected to file manually will now file correctly.

Resolutions

  • As the Support Bot platform is currently unavailable, we have reintroduced the Support Request Drawer within FYI to ensure that users can continue to send queries to the Support Team.

    Clicking the Help question mark icon and selecting Support Request will display the Support Request drawer. Users will be able to enter the details of their query and record a video. Support requests will be sent from the current user logged into the platform. Once submitted, an email confirmation will be sent to the user. Refer to Submitting a Support Request.

    Please note that Support Requests can also be submitted from the Help Centre or by emailing support@fyi.app.
     
  • The following resolution on 28.08.25 has been reverted:
    'For practices integrated with APS, blank Custom Field values will not be synchronised to clients in FYI'.
