"Unknown error fetching document" when previewing an Email

Issue

When previewing an email in FYI, the following error message displays in the Preview window:

• "Unknown error fetching document"

Cause

The message body of the email is larger than 20MB and cannot be displayed. This can occur, for example, when an image in the email signature is of substantial size.

Solution

To prevent the email body from exceeding 20MB,it is recommended that images used in email signatures be optimized to reduce overall file size. Refer to File Limits for details on email size restictions.

If you are previewing an email that has been received, users may need to view the message directly in Outlook. Note that message size limitation may also be determined by the email provider.
