Resolutions

  • For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, we have reverted a change to autosave changes to Custom Field definitions, to prevent excessive syncs with XPM. Users will need to click Save after making updates.

Enhancements

  • We have updated the Client - Summary to display the Addressee field, populated from the Primary Contact. A Contact icon will appear next to the field to indicate the source of the data, which when clicked, will redirect users to the Contacts tab to display the Primary Contact details. If a Primary Contact is not selected, the Addressee field will be blank, and the icon will not be displayed. Refer to Client Summary and Client Activity.

    For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, the Addressee field is synchronised with the Primary Contact in XPM. To update this field in FYI, the user will need to update XPM to either select a Primary Contact or modify the existing Primary Contact details.

    For practices where FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance is enabled, users with permission to Edit Clients can set the Addressee on the contact or client. When updated at the client level, this will override the Primary Contact details. As Xero Practice Manager does not maintain the Addressee at a client level, this data will not be synchronised from FYI.

  • We have improved the Automation Process History to allow users to quickly identify any Automations containing a warning for one of the underlying Process Steps. An exclamation mark icon is now displayed in the Status column next to the Status name, and a new Warning button in the Automation Process History toolbar can be used to filter the list to display only processes with warnings. This update is available from Automation - History, the History tab within an individual Automation, and the Client, Job, and Employee (Elite only) workspaces. Refer to Automation History.

  • For UK Practices integrated with IRIS, if a custom field is deleted in FYI but still active in IRIS, the Custom Field will be automatically recreated in FYI during the next sync. To ensure practices are aware that the field has been restored, a message will display in Practice Activity with additional details, including a "Read More" link to assist with troubleshooting the error. Refer to Error FYI-2275 "Archive the Custom Field in IRIS before deleting the matching Custom Field in FYI."

  • For practices where FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance is enabled, when displaying the Assigned Users section in the Jobs Drawer, a new tooltip has been added to clarify that only "User" Type Custom Fields are displayed. Refer to Displaying the Job Drawer.

For practices on the FYI Elite plan:

  • When deleting submitted Time and Disbursements from Time lists, the entries are not permanently removed from FYI. Deleted entries can be viewed by clicking the Unhide Deleted Timesheets button in the Time list toolbar, and if required, restored using the new Restore button. Values from deleted time and disbursement entries are excluded from WIP calculations.

    The Delete option has been removed from Bulk Update to ensure users are prompted to confirm they would like to delete the entries before proceeding.

    Note: Draft, In Progress, and Interim time entries will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored. Refer to Deleting Time and Disbursement Entries and Restoring Deleted Time and Disbursement Entries.

  • When importing Unbilled WIP, if the CSV file includes any unbilled time that matches a time entry that has already been invoiced, new submitted time entries will be created. The new entries will have a billable rate and amount, enabling practices to accurately manage their WIP. Refer to Import Unbilled WIP Report.

  • For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, we have reintroduced the Remove WIP from Xero Practice Manager step to the Finalise Migration Reconciliation section of the Elite Onboarding Wizard. This step will prompt practices to remove their WIP in XPM once they have confirmed their WIP Reconciliation in FYI is successful. Refer to FYI Elite Onboarding Wizard.

  • When viewing an Invoice Document, we have improved the message displayed in the Activity section of the Invoice Drawer. The message will include additional details of the change, the time and date, and the user who made the change. Refer to Opening and Editing Invoices.

We're excited to release the following Beta features for practices on the Elite plan:

  • The new Team Productivity Beta, available to users with permissions to access Employees, introduces a Home – My Team tab that lists key employee metrics, helping users spot variances and follow up to ensure accurate time recording. Metrics displayed for each employee include Actual Hours, Expected Hours, and Productivity percentages. For more information or to sign up for the Beta, refer to Using Home - My Team Productivity.

  • The new Enhanced Time and Invoice Grouping Beta introduces new capabilities when grouping Time and Invoices lists. Once the beta is enabled, practices can leverage improved grouping options to better review and analyse their data. For more information or to sign up for the Beta, refer to Grouping Invoice and Time Lists. This beta includes:
    • Grouping by Date columns: Any Date fields can now be grouped to gain clearer insights across Time and Invoice lists. Users can easily refine the results further by right-clicking a row, selecting "Group by" and choosing Year, Month, Week or Day.
    • Grouping Large Data Sets: We've increased the grouping limit to 50,000 rows (previously 10,000), making it easier to work with larger data sets on Time and Invoice lists. When loading larger volumes of information, users may experience a slight delay. A message will also display in the list to advise users if they reach the maximum number of rows.

Resolutions

  • For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager:
    • When a client is created in FYI from a Zapier integration, and synchronised to XPM, the Source of the client in FYI will be updated to XPM.
    • After updating Client Custom Fields in FYI using an Automation Process or Bulk Update, the Client Summary tab will display a "Pending Sync" label to prevent Xero Practice Manager from overwriting the changes.
  • We have resolved an issue where the {{ TriggerBudget }} Merge Field was not available when creating a Job through an Automation Process.
  • We have restored the Client Group - Client List to default to the "All" view with the relevant columns, for example, Manager and Partner.
  • Where a Legacy Merge Field is used for a Custom Field available to both Clients and Jobs, if the Client Custom Field is empty, the Job Custom Field will be used. Please note that practices are encouraged to update their Merge Fields to the latest version with the "Job" or "Client" prefix. Refer to Merge Fields Overview.
  • For UK Practices integrated with IRIS, when a Custom Field is updated in IRIS, Practice Activity in FYI will now display the correct update count one time only, after the change has been synchronised.
  • When sharing a document using New Collaborate, the Progress window now displays a Close button to allow users to manually exit the window earlier than the 5-second auto-close.

For practices on the Elite plan:

  • When grouping invoices from the Client - Invoices tab, and selecting Unhide Deleted and Voided Invoices or Unhide Paid Invoices, the list will now correctly display the relevant invoices for that client.
  • Where an invoice has previously synchronised with Xero, unlocking and updating the invoice in FYI will sync the changes to Xero.

New

  • We're excited to announce two new integrations available to practices in Australia and New Zealand:

    • Dashboard Insights - available to practices on the Elite plan only. Practice management data from FYI is synchronised to Dashboard Insights, providing visual dashboards and custom reports for more informed and proactive decision-making. Refer to Announcing the new integration with Dashboard Insights.

    • Seamlss - allowing practices to automatically synchronise documents to FYI generated through client engagements for seamless document management. Documents will be filed to the selected default cabinet and categories, reducing the need for manual handling. The Seamlss integration is available to practices subscribed to the Pro or Elite plan. Refer to Announcing the new integration with Seamlss.

Enhancements

  • When editing Custom Fields in Practice Settings, changes will be saved automatically. The Save and Cancel buttons have been removed from the drawer accordingly. Refer to Managing Custom Fields.

  • We have improved the My Settings - Status tab to replace the green exclamation marks with checkmarks, making it easier to identify which items require attention. A green tick will be displayed for each item that has been configured successfully. Refer to Individual Settings and Status.

  • We have improved the Task Views for practices starting a new trial, with the displayed Columns and Filters customised to provide the most useful information for users. Existing practices will not be impacted by these changes. Refer to Using the Tasks Lists.

  • For practices using the Automation Process CSV Data Import (Beta), we now support True/False and Yes/No fields when importing data using Merge Fields in an Automation Step, for example, "Checkbox" Type Custom Fields. Please note that if a Merge Field is not available, the data cannot be imported for that field. Refer to Automation Process CSV Data Import (Beta).

  • For practices on the Elite plan:

    • To simplify invoice management, the Invoices tab has been removed from the Workflow Job workspace. All related invoices are displayed under the Invoices tab of the associated Billing Job. Refer to Searching for Invoices.

    • We have introduced the Task icon to Invoices lists, and will be displayed when a task has been added to an Invoice. The Task icon will also display the number of outstanding tasks in red. Refer to Using the Invoice Lists.

Resolutions

  • For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, relationships will continue to be displayed on the Client - Relationships tab for archived clients.
  • For practices integrated with IRIS via Practice Sync, budget values will be retained in FYI after a sync has been performed.
  • We have resolved an issue when creating, replying or forwarding an email in FYI when the message body was too large, for example, where signature images were larger than 10MB. Please note that it is recommended to optimise your images to reduce the email file size.
  • When using the right-click menu on Lists, we have removed the Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut as this function is no longer available. Click the Copy button in the pop-up menu to copy an item from the list.
  • For practices integrated with FuseSign, when sending multiple documents for signing, the order in which the documents are selected will be retained in the signature app.
  • For practices on the Elite plan and integrated with Xero Practice Manager, the 'Open in PM' button has been removed from Time lists. When FYI is enabled as PM, time entries are maintained directly in FYI.
