Why is Excel freezing when I try to paste the link that has been copied to the clipboard using the Doc Link button in FYI?

Issue
I have an Excel document that is freezing when I click the Doc Link button in FYI. If I open a blank Excel document and click Doc Link this does not freeze, however on a certain spreadsheet when I paste the Doc Link from FYI it freezes Excel.

Cause
It is likely this is not an FYI issue.

Solution
Try disabling Add-ins and then try using the link function to see if it is still happening. If it is, this is not an FYI issue.

Check for any start-up applications that use the clipboard to see which is freezing Excel.
