The blue 'Filed in FYI' category icon is not displayed in Outlook for emails filed in FYI

Issue

An email has been filed from Outlook to FYI, but the Filed in FYI category is not displayed in Outlook.

Cause

The Filed in FYI category is applied after FYI sends a request to Microsoft. There can be a delay before Microsoft synchronises this update to your mailbox.

This timing is controlled by Microsoft and is outside of FYI’s control.

In most cases, the category is applied within 15 minutes, but this can vary depending on Microsoft synchronisation.

This is expected behaviour and does not affect the email being successfully filed in FYI.

Solution

  1. Allow up to 15 minutes for the Filed in FYI category to appear in Outlook.
  2. Confirm the email has been successfully filed by checking the FYI Drawer in Outlook, or by locating the document in FYI.
  3. If the category has not appeared after 30 minutes, restart Outlook to refresh your mailbox.

If the category is still not displayed after completing the steps above, this may indicate a delay in Microsoft synchronisation.
