Job Custom Fields can be edited from the Jobs - Custom Fields tab, to ensure practices maintain accurate job details.
For practices where FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance is enabled, "User" type Custom Fields are edited from the Jobs - Summary tab, within the Assigned Users section.
Editing Job Custom Fields
To edit Job Custom Fields, users must belong to a User Group with Edit Custom Fields permission enabled.
- From the Jobs - Custom Fields tab, click the Edit Custom Fields icon.
- Enter or select the new value for Custom Fields as required.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Editing Assigned Users
For practices where FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance is enabled, "User" type Custom Fields, referred to as Custom User Roles can be edited on the Jobs - Summary tab.
Users must belong to a User Group with Edit Jobs permission enabled.
- From the Jobs - Summary tab, click Edit Job.
- Navigate to the Assigned Users section.
- Enter or select the new value for Custom User Role as required.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Clearing Job Custom Fields
- From the Jobs - Custom Fields tab, click the Edit icon.
- Click the X next to the Custom Field to remove the selected value.
For text fields, highlight the content and press the Delete button on the keyboard. - Click Save at the bottom of the screen. The update will be recorded on the Job Activity tab.
Pending Sync Status
For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager (XPM), certain updates to jobs made in FYI will be synchronised to XPM, and a Pending Sync tag will appear on the Job - Summary tab to prevent updates from being overwritten by changes in XPM. Once the updates have synced to XPM, the tag will be cleared.
When a Job is marked as Pending Sync, custom field changes made in XPM will not be synchronised.

Reordering Custom Fields
An FYI Admin can maintain the display order of Job Custom Fields, from the practice's Custom Field Settings.
Editing Web Link Job Custom Fields
When editing a "URL" or "Text" type Job Custom field, enter the value in one of the following formats to ensure it becomes a clickable link once saved:
- https://webaddress.com
- https://www.webaddress.com
- www.webaddress.com
- webaddress.com
You cannot combine multiple links, or text with a link, otherwise the field will not be clickable. For example, entering "www.mycompany.com and www.mybusiness.com" will not become clickable.
