Client and Job List Cache Refresh

When logging into FYI and loading the Client or Job list, FYI will temporarily store the data locally rather than retrieving new data each time the list is displayed. This offers many benefits, including faster performance and reduced load times when viewing and working with data, for example, grouping or filtering lists.

These lists will automatically retrieve the latest data from the FYI database at scheduled intervals, but users will be able to request an update at any time using the Refresh button.

Note: The List Cache feature is separate from the browser cache. Refreshing your browser screen will not refresh the List Cache.

List Refresh Overview

As practices use FYI, with multiple users adding and managing information, for example, creating jobs, the data can grow rapidly.

The benefits of caching mean faster performance and reduced load times when using FYI. However, this can mean that recent changes may not be immediately displayed, although the data has been saved to the database.

New data will only be retrieved and refreshed automatically for each user:

  • every hour for Jobs Lists.
  • every three hours for Clients Lists.
  • when logging out and back in to FYI.

The time the data was last requested is displayed in the top right-hand corner of each list:

Without caching, the FYI platform would become progressively slower as the number of jobs, clients, and other information increased.

Refreshing Lists Manually

Lists can be refreshed to display recent changes to data, for example, changes to Job Details. Refreshing the list will display the latest data for that user only.

To refresh a List:

  1. Click the Refresh button.
