Integration with Dashboard Insights (Australia and New Zealand only)

The integration with Dashboard Insights provides practices on the Elite plan with the ability to sync your FYI practice management data for elevated dashboard reporting.

Dashboard Insights Integration Overview

Data Synchronisation from FYI: Key data from FYI, such as billing, jobs, WIP, and team member performance, is synchronised with Dashboard Insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Interactive Dashboards: Access visual dashboards that provide clear insights across Billing, Job progress, WIP levels, and individual and team performance.
Flexible Date Filtering: Reports can be filtered to specific date ranges, enabling focused analysis on particular periods or performance windows.
Comparative Metrics: Easily compare key metrics across different time ranges, such as billing periods, to monitor trends and changes.
Customisable Reporting: Create and tailor your reports to suit your firm’s unique reporting requirements.
Enhanced Data Visibility: Get deeper insights into critical performance metrics to drive accountability, planning, and firm-wide optimisation.

Connecting Dashboard Insights to FYI

Step 1 - Obtain the Access Key ID and Access Key Secret from FYI

This step can only be completed by an FYI Admin, or a user in a User Group with permissions enabled for Automations.

In FYI, click the Automation menu option.
Click on the Apps tab.
Locate the Dashboard Insights app, and click the cog icon.
Click Create new secret. This will generate a new Access Key ID and Secret Key used to connect to FYI.
The Access Key Secret and Secret Key ID will be displayed. Click the clipboard icon next to each code to copy and paste it to Dashboard Insights or a secure location, for example, a vault.
Important: You will only be able to view the Secret key the first time this window is displayed. If the Key is required again, you will need to disconnect your integration and request a new Key before you reconnect your integration.

The AutoFile defaults can be disregarded for this integration.

Step 2 - Adding the FYI Access Key and Access Key Secret to Dashboard Insights

In Dashboard Insights, click Platform from the menu on the left.
Click Edit next to your Practice Name.
Click Edit Secrets.
Enter the FYI Access Key ID into the ApiKey field.
Enter the Access Key Secret into the ApiSecret field.
Click Update.

The Refresh Status will be updated daily to indicate when the daily refresh has been completed.
