New
- FYI is now integrated with DASH Software, an innovative financial technology company dedicated to transforming the delivery of financial advice. Using the integration, practices will be able to sync documents from both DASH Software and FYI into the respective platform. Refer to Integration with DASH Software.
Enhancements
- We have improved the messaging when an Admin User in the Practice OneDrive app is no longer active. An Action Required will display in Practice Activity, notifying the user is inactive and a new Admin user must be selected. Refer to Link your Practice's OneDrive Admin Account.
- The Cimplico Workpapers Automation App logo has been updated, to reflect their recent branding update. Refer to Integration with Cimplico Workpapers (Australia and New Zealand Only).
For practices on the FYI Elite plan:

- We have introduced new Relative Filters to the Jobs and Invoices Lists for specific columns, allowing users to filter by an amount Greater Than or Less Than. In addition, these filters can then be saved to a view and used within custom automation processes. For example, where a Jobs List view is filtered by the greater than WIP column, an automation process could create Progress Invoices only for jobs with higher amounts of WIP. For an example of how to use the new filters, refer to Sorting and Filtering Jobs Lists.
The Greater Than or Less Than filter can be used on the Jobs Lists for the WIP, Budget Amount, Actual Amount, Invoiced Amount, and Write On/Off columns. On the Invoices Lists, the filter is available on the Invoice Amount, Gross Amount, Paid, and Due columns.
- Several enhancements have been made to the Time and Disbursements Bulk Update function:
- When bulk updating Time Entries, the Current Client option has been removed from the Client drop-down, as the current client is already selected. Refer to Time and Disbursements Bulk Update.
- When bulk updating Interim Time entries, the Rate field has been removed from the Bulk Update drawer as it does not apply to Interim Time Entries. The Rate field will remain for all other Time Entries. Refer to Managing Work in Progress - WIP.

Interim time entries that have been submitted but not invoiced, can now be edited from the Time tab and Bulk Update. Users can modify the Client, Job, Notes and Custom fields of the time entry. For example, imported interim time entries can be moved to a new client and job, or carried forward to a different job in the same family group. Refer to Managing Work in Progress - WIP.
When bulk updating Interim time entries:
- If a different Client is selected first, the respective standard and workflow jobs for the associated client will display in the Job drop-down. If only the Client is updated and it does not belong to the same group as the original Job, the time entry will not be updated and an error will be displayed in Practice Activity.
- If a Job is selected first and then a Client, the job selected in the drawer will be cleared if the client is not part of the same group. When updating both the client and job, they must belong to the same group.
- If only a job is selected that is not part of the Client group, the Client will be updated to the Job's client.
- When bulk updating Time Entries, the Current Client option has been removed from the Client drop-down, as the current client is already selected. Refer to Time and Disbursements Bulk Update.
- When creating an invoice and updating the time of a Workflow job from the Add Time window, the Client field and Delete function have been removed. Time entries can now only be moved between associated workflow jobs, or have additional custom fields applied during the invoicing process. Users will need to use the Time tab to move time to a different client or delete a time entry before creating an invoice. Refer to Managing Work in Progress - WIP.

Resolutions
- When an FYI Admin selects to delete documents via Bulk Update, the Approver and Category fields will be disabled.
- Practices migrating documents from OfficeTech will have .TSSMeta files excluded from the migration process into FYI.
- When using Bulk Export via AWS, if the Document Count times out due to a large number of documents, users can now click Create and continue the export process.
- For practices integrated with IRIS via Practice Sync, when changing the value of a Category field in IRIS, a new Custom Field will be created in FYI and set to "True". The Custom Field created from the previous Category value will be set to "False".
- We have resolved an issue with Automations to ensure that processes using a Schedule trigger will run within a few minutes of the nominated time.
- For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager with FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance enabled in the FYI Practice Settings, after updating a contact in FYI a "Pending Sync" tag will be displayed on the Client - Summary tab. Once the changes have been synchronised with XPM, the tag will be removed.
For practices on the FYI Elite plan:
- We have resolved an issue with the Create Disbursements Automation step, where invalid date formats in merge fields caused an error when the process was run. Date merge fields will now be converted to a valid date format when a process is executed.

New

Run Automations from Lists is now available to all practices on the Pro and Elite plan. This feature streamlines the process of running manual processes, with users able to select clients, jobs, or documents, and run the required automation in only a few clicks. The Automation Process will need to be enabled for Run from Lists, and users must belong to a User Group with the appropriate permissions. Refer to Announcing the Run From Lists feature for Manual Automation Processes.
- You can now view the client's Primary Contact, and for practices on Elite and Pro plans where FYI as Primary is enabled, the ability to create and manage Primary Contacts directly within FYI, including selecting and deselecting contacts as required. Practices on the Pro plan will continue to manage the selected Primary Contact from within their integrated practice management platform.
The Client - Contacts tab has been updated to display a Primary Contact checkbox to easily identify which contact is the current Primary Contact. The Contact drawer, displayed when a contact is selected, will also display the Primary Contact option. Users on the Elite plan belonging to a User Group with permission to Edit Clients will also be able to select and deselect the Primary Contact from the list or the Contact Drawer as required.
Warning messages will be displayed if there is already another Primary Contact selected, or when deselecting the Primary Contact option and no other Primary Contact has been nominated. When a new Primary Contact is selected, the Contact field on the Client - Summary tab will be updated, along with the Mobile and Salutation (if FYI as Primary for Client Mobile & Salutation is not enabled). For practices where FYI as Primary for Mobile & Salutation is not enabled, if a Primary Contact has not been selected, the Mobile and Salutation field will be blank.
The Client - Activity tab will display updates when changes to the Primary Contact are made. Refer to Client Contacts and Nominating the Primary Contact for a Client.
Enhancements
- The email address displayed on the Client - Summary tab will not default to the Primary Contact Email Address (or the first contact where no Primary Contact is selected). For practices integrated with a practice management solution, the client's email address will be set in the practice management software. For practices using FYI as Primary, the email address can be updated when editing the client in FYI. If an email address has not been set in either the integrated practice management platform or FYI, the Email Address field will be blank. Refer to Client Summary.
- When sharing multiple documents using New Collaborate Share No Email, documents will be uploaded to the client folder relevant to which client the document is filed in FYI. Where the selected documents to be shared are filed to different clients, the Share Document drawer will not display the Client field, and the name of the client will be displayed under each document. Refer to Sharing Documents with Clients and External Users.
- When updating Job Mappings in the Jobs Practice Settings to add or remove Assigned User Roles, new prompts will be displayed to confirm the Custom User Role will be added or removed from the Assigned Users field on Jobs. Refer to Managing Mappings.
- When using New Collaborate Status Check in the Collaborate app, the results of each check will be displayed as they are completed, rather than altogether at the end. Refer to Troubleshooting New Collaborate using Status Check.
- When viewing the Summary tab for the Client Group Workspace, a yellow Archived label will be displayed next to archived clients in the group members. Refer to Displaying Information for Client Groups.
- For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, if a Client or Job displays the Pending Sync tag in FYI, any changes made to custom fields in XPM will not be synchronised. The Pending Sync tag prevents updates from XPM being overwritten. Refer to Synchronising Clients, Staff, Jobs, Time, Tax Returns with Xero Practice Manager.
- For our Implementors, a new Refile Requests tab has been added to Practice Settings - Documents. This tab allows Implementors to view, filter and sort all refile requests. Implementors will also have the option to replay or cancel refiles directly from this tab. Refer to Implementors: Refile Requests.
For practices on the FYI Elite plan:

- Exciting improvements have been made to the WIP Import functionality, which now performs the request every 15 minutes. When an FYI Admin uploads their WIP Import file in the Time & Invoices - Setup tab, they will be notified that the process will start within the next 15minutes. Once completed, an event will be added to Practice Activity. Refer to Import Xero Practice Manager Unbilled WIP Report.
- For practices with XPM Workflow Jobs previously enabled, when performing the WIP Import, imported time entries will be created against the Workflow Job in FYI. Refer to Import Xero Practice Manager Unbilled WIP Report.
- The Date of a Time or Disbursement entry can now be updated when performing a Bulk Update. This applies to entries with the status of Draft, In Progress or Submitted. If the selected date falls within a date period that is locked, it will not be updated. Refer to Time and Disbursements Bulk Update.
- We have released a new version of the Revenue per FTE and WIP Control Excel report templates:
Version 3.2 of the Revenue per FTE report includes updates to the field names for "Productivity %" and "Expected Working Hours" to align with the correct values in user profiles.
Version 3.2 of the WIP Control report, includes updates to various formulas including updating the "Billable Amount" calculation to ensure an accurate comparison of the date ranges. New conditions were also incorporated to the opening balance formula, to account for draft entries and interim timesheet values.
The new report templates will need to be downloaded from the Help Centre here, and uploaded to your FYI platform to replace the existing report. Refer to Managing FYI Excel Master Report Templates.
- A new step has been added to the Elite Onboarding Wizard - Configure and Update Jobs section, Apply New Job Templates. This step will link practices to their Jobs workspace, to apply FYI Job Templates to existing jobs. Refer to FYI Elite Onboarding Wizard.

Resolutions
- When requesting a Magic Link, an email will be sent to the user to display the email address that requested access.
- For practices with FYI as Primary for Mobile and Salutation enabled, Archived clients will retain their archived status after the overnight synchronisation with Xero Practice Manager.
- When creating or updating Jobs using an Automation Process or Bulk Update, an error will be displayed if the selected Due Date is before the Start Date. If a Merge Field is used to calculate the Due Date in an Automation Process, when the process runs the Job Due Date will be updated automatically to match the start date, to ensure the process can continue. A warning in the Process History will be displayed to confirm the Due Date was changed.
- When creating an email, if a contact has been removed from a client, the contact will not be available to select as a recipient.
- When filtering on the App column in Practice Activity, we have removed duplicate names "Practice Management" and "Practice Sync". The "FYI Practice Management" and "FYI Practice Sync" options remain available to filter for events related to those apps. Any views saved using the removed app names will be updated to use the correct app names automatically.
- For practices using the Practice Sync Integration, when a Client Custom Field is updated in FYI, this value is retained when navigating away from the Custom Field tab.
- When creating a Word document using the Merge Field 'JobBudget' or 'JobBudgetAmount' the correct value will be displayed.
- When copying a document using the Copy function, the Workflow Status of the copied document is selected as 'Not Started'.
- For practices integrated with APS, if the Practice Sync app is installed on a machine with an unsupported date format (eg MM/DD/YYYY), the Practice Activity Alert will now only display once per day.
- We have resolved an issue when creating Bulk Time Entries on documents, where the default time rate was not applied to the draft time entry.
For practices on the FYI Elite plan:
- When synchronising invoices with Xero Ledger, if the contact in Xero cannot be updated an alert will be added to Practice Activity. The invoice will continue to synchronise to the existing contact successfully.
- When a Time Entry is created using the Create Time step in an Automation, the Automation icon will appear on the draft time entry to indicate that the entry was created from a process step.
