Error FYI-2230: The user does not have the FYI permissions required to use Practice Sync.

Issue

The FYI Practice Sync Desktop App has not connected to FYI successfully, and the following error has been added to Practice Activity:

  • The user 'Name' does not have the FYI permissions required to use Practice Sync.

Clicking on the error, the following error message is displayed in the Activity Drawer:

  • FYI-2230 The user does not have the FYI permissions required to use Practice Sync. Update the permissions or select a different FYI Admin user.

Cause

When installing the FYI Practice Sync Desktop App, the user who signs in to FYI must be an FYI Admin User.

If the user does not have FYI Admin permissions, the Practice Sync Desktop App will not connect to FYI, and an error will be displayed in Practice Activity.

Solution

To resolve the issue, you will need to do either of the following:

  • Update the FYI permissions to an FYI Admin user, for the user who has configured the FYI Practice Sync app. Refer to Managing Users.

    Or

  • Select a different user with FYI Admin permissions, in the FYI Practice Sync Desktop App. Refer to FYI Practice Sync Desktop App.
