We're excited to announce that Universal Merge Fields are now available for all practices, commonly referred to as "Merge Fields".
This new feature replaces the former version of Merge Fields, allowing practices to streamline processes and elevate their client and job information.
What does this mean for FYI users?
An FYI Admin, or user with permissions to manage Templates and Automations can take advantage of the new functionality by updating their templates and automations at their convenience.
Merge Fields are backwards compatible, meaning that existing Automations and Templates using Merge Fields will not be impacted.

Merge Field icon - The new Merge Field icon displayed in Automations, Templates, Task Templates and Job Templates, allowing users to quickly identify where Merge Fields can be used.

Merge Field selection window - We've expanded the sources of Merge Fields, grouped into sections based on where the data is being pulled from. Different sections will be displayed depending on whether you're creating an Email, Document, Automation, or Template. For practices integrated with other platforms, additional sections will be displayed for each integration, for example BGL, NowInfinity etc. For documents, we've added dedicated sections for Document Author and Document Owner.

Custom Fields - We've added Custom Fields to the Merge Field selection window, to make it easy to personalise your data based on your individual practice needs. For example, when creating a Job from an Automation process, you can easily update your Job Custom Fields by selecting the corresponding Client Custom Fields.

Merge Field Validation - When customising a merge field with formatting, such as date formatting, a Validation Check will ensure the merge field is correctly formatted. An error will be displayed if the format is invalid, for example, if a curly bracket is missing.

Merge Field Names - Merge Field names have been updated to reflect the source of the data. For example, the date a document was created has been updated to {{ DocumentCreatedDate }}. Merge Fields are backwards compatible, meaning existing templates and automations using the former Merge Field name will not be impacted.
- Bulk Update - Merge Fields are available on the Client and Job Bulk Update functions, allowing practices to efficiently apply updates required. For the Client Bulk Update, this feature also includes two additional new fields, Client Code and Export Code.

Merge Fields are available for all FYI practices.
