Can I move a Category to a different Cabinet?

Plan: Available: All plans 

Users: Not Available: All users, User Group Permissions Available: FYI Admins

You cannot directly move a Category to a different Cabinet.

You need to do this as follows:

  1. Create the new Category under the required Cabinet.
     
  2. Check if there are any documents filed under the Category you need to delete by displaying the All view in the documents list and use the Category as a filter. 
     
  3. Use Bulk Update to first move any documents to a different Category. Refer Bulk Update of Filing Details.
     
  4. Delete or Archive the old Category. 
    Before removing the Category this checks if it is assigned to any users or clients, or the practice in the Filing Defaults. You need to change these before you can delete or archive the Category. Refer to Managing Categories.
