Issue

When filing a reply to an email in Outlook, the following error may display in the FYI Drawer:

  • "FYI could not find this email saved with Microsoft. Thread filing details were not found."

Cause

This error can occur for one of the following reasons:

Solution

Email is prior to the migration to FYI

This issue may occur if the original email being replied to was created before the migration to FYI, and the user does not save the email before filing.

Solution:
Before clicking Create, press Ctrl+S to save the email.

Microsoft Graph API could not find the threaded email in FYI

Microsoft Graph, the API used by FYI, could not locate the threaded email in FYI. As a result, the API cannot provide those details to the reply email. When you click on the original email, the details are present, but for technical reasons, the API cannot read them.

Solution:
Send the email directly from Outlook.

Once sent, the email will be automatically filed using the thread details of the original message (unless you specify different filing settings).

If the error appears again, you can safely ignore it and proceed to send the email. The reply will be filed using the original email’s details, and the conversation will display as a thread in FYI.
