Issue
I am trying to file a reply to an email in Outlook and it is giving the following error in the FYI Drawer:
"FYI could not find this email saved with Microsoft. Thread filing details were not found"
Causes
This could be caused by one of the following. See below for the solution for each of these.
Email is Prior to the Migration to FYI
The email that is being replied to is prior to the migration to FYI and the user is not pressing Ctrl+s to save it before filing it.
Solution
Before clicking Create, press Ctrl+s to save the email.
Microsoft Graph API could not find the Threaded Email in FYI
Microsoft Graph, the API FYI uses, could not find the threaded email in FYI. It is then unable to provide those details to the reply email. When you click on the original email the details are there, but due to some technical reason, the API is unable to read them.
Solution
Send the email from Outlook.
Once sent from Outlook, the email will file using the thread details of the original email (unless you specify that you want to file it differently).
If you experience this again, please ignore the message that the thread filing details cannot be found and send the email. The expected result is that the email will file using the filing details of the original email and you will see the reply email as a thread in FYI.
