Issue
When synchronising documents with FYI, the "Syncing with FYI" message is displayed for a long time, or the sync does not complete.
Cause
This can occur when OneDrive is unable to finish syncing documents used by FYI. Click on the causes below for information on how to resolve the issue.
If OneDrive cannot finish syncing documents, this can cause the Syncing with FYI message to continue displaying.
Solution
- Check the OneDrive icon on the right-hand side of the Windows taskbar.
- Confirm whether OneDrive is still syncing, or whether it displays as up to date.
- If OneDrive is permanently or often syncing, refer to How to check if the OneDrive is permanently or often syncing.
Syncing a very large document, or a large number of documents, may cause OneDrive to take longer to complete the sync.
Solution
- Allow OneDrive time to complete the sync.
- Check whether other files are also being synced through OneDrive.
- If OneDrive is syncing documents outside of FYI, review whether those files need to continue syncing.
- Refer to the Microsoft articles Fix problems uploading files on the OneDrive website and OneDrive is stuck on “Processing changes”.
If multiple users are syncing documents using the same shared OneDrive, OneDrive may take longer to complete the sync.
Solution
- Confirm whether other users are syncing documents through the same shared OneDrive.
- Check whether OneDrive is configured correctly for FYI.
- Refer to Configuring your OneDrive for use with FYI.
If the file is still open, FYI displays the message "Document is open and cannot be synced."
Solution
- Close the relevant document.
- Allow FYI to refresh the sync automatically.
- For more information, refer to Opening, Editing and Finish Editing Documents.
