The FYI Add-ins enable key FYI features directly within Microsoft 365, including automatically filing emails, accessing documents, and working with the FYI Drawer from Outlook and Office applications.
This article explains how to install the FYI Add-ins for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Note: A Microsoft 365 Business Standard licence, or higher, is required to use the FYI Add-ins.
Installing the FYI Add-ins
There are two ways to install the FYI Add-ins.
To make the FYI Add-ins available to all users, practices should install the Add-ins using the Practice Microsoft 365 administrator account.
Installing the Add-ins individually is recommended only when trialling FYI before the full practice deployment.
- Add the FYI Add-ins to your Practice Microsoft 365 Account
- Add the FYI Add-ins as a User from within Office and Outlook
Practice Microsoft 365 Account
The FYI Add-ins can be added to your Practice Microsoft 365 Account. You must be a Microsoft 365 Administrator for your practice to complete this function on behalf of other users.
This is a mandatory step that must be completed before your team begins using FYI.
- Go to https://appsource.microsoft.com and locate the FYI Add-ins in the Microsoft store.
- Install FYI for Outlook.
- Install FYI for Office.

Individual User
The FYI Add-ins can be added by individual users from within Office and Outlook. This option can be helpful where a single user wants to try FYI before onboarding the entire practice.

Checking the FYI Add-ins are Installed Correctly
To confirm the Add-ins are installed correctly, check that you can access the FYI Drawer in both Office and Outlook.
Note: You must be logged into Office and Outlook using the same account as the FYI user account to file emails.
The location of the FYI icon will depend on the version of Office installed on your computer.
For example, the icon could be located in any of the following places:
- In the Ribbon bar
- At the top of the email near the Reply, Reply All, or Forward buttons
- Under the More Actions menu, accessed by clicking the three dots (...)
- In the Apps menu
