Installing the FYI Add-ins

There are two ways to install the FYI Add-ins.

To make the FYI Add-ins available to all users, practices should install the Add-ins using the Practice Microsoft 365 administrator account. This is the recommended option for a full practice rollout.

Installing the Add-ins individually is recommended only when trialling FYI before the full practice deployment.

Install the FYI Add-ins using the Microsoft 365 administrator account

The FYI Add-ins can be installed using the Practice Microsoft 365 administrator account. The user completing this function on behalf of other users must be a Microsoft 365 Administrator for the practice.

Note: This is a mandatory step that must be completed before practice users begin using FYI.

  1. Go to https://appsource.microsoft.com and locate the FYI Add-ins in the Microsoft Store.

  2. Install the FYI Add-in for Outlook.

  3. Install the FYI Add-in for Office.

Refer to Adding the FYI Add-ins to Your Practice Microsoft 365 Account.

Install the FYI Add-ins as an individual user

The FYI Add-ins can be installed by individual users from within Office and Outlook. This option can be helpful where a single user wants to try FYI before onboarding the entire practice.

Refer to Adding FYI Add-ins as a User from within Office and Outlook.

Checking the FYI Add-ins Are Installed Correctly

To confirm the Add-ins are installed correctly, check that users can access the FYI Drawer in both Office and Outlook.

Note: Users must be logged into Office and Outlook using the same account as their FYI user account to file emails.

The location of the FYI icon will depend on the version of Office installed on the user's computer.

  • In the Ribbon bar
  • At the top of the email near the Reply, Reply All, or Forward buttons

  • In the Apps menu

If the FYI icon still does not display, refer to Why does the FYI Drawer icon not appear in Outlook or is greyed out?.

  1. Configure the Outlook settings for FYI.
