By default, the FYI web application does not allow more than one user to be logged in on the same browser at the same time. The reason behind this is that only one user can be logged in on the same browser session.
Due to certain use-cases or workflow differences of several Practices, you can create a browser profile so that multiple FYI user accounts can be used to log in to FYI on the same computer.
Please refer to the following information regarding setting up browser profiles:
- Chrome Browser - For information on how to create a Chrome profile, refer to the Google help article Share Chrome with others.
- Microsoft Edge Browser - For information on how to create a Microsoft Edge profile, refer to the Microsoft support article Sign in and create multiple profiles in Microsoft Edge.
- Firefox Browser - For information on how to create a Firefox profile, refer to the Mozilla Firefox support article Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles.
For more information on FYI Supported Browsers please refer to Prerequisites for using FYI in your Practice.
Logging In to FYI
Once you have set up more than one browser profile, you will now be able to launch two instances of your browser. Log in to each FYI User account using one of the browser profile instances for each.
Additional Information
Users outside your practice will log into their computer as per usual and use multiple browser profiles as required.
The FYI Add-in for Outlook Desktop will only work for the user's primary email address if using New Outlook. The FYI Add-in works with Classic Outlook.
For Desktop Microsoft Word and Excel, users can work in the desktop editions, however they will need to select the correct Microsoft Profile to ensure the filing and saving works correctly. Alternatively, users can work from Online Microsoft Word and Excel for their work within their separate browser profiles.
For practices using a Shared Mailbox, it is recommended that they set up additional browser profiles to manage these inboxes. Refer to How can I use a Shared Mailbox? for more information.
