Issue

When adding a Guest User to the Sharing Settings in New Collaborate, the user was not added, and the following error is displayed in Practice Activity:

  • FYI-2207: FYI was unable to add the guest user to the Collaborate SharePoint Site. Remove the guest user, wait 15 minutes and try again.

Cause

When adding a new user to the SharePoint site, New Collaborate will perform several steps, including adding the user to the Share Folder and Upload Folder permissions, as well as adding the user to the SharePoint site Visitor's Group.

An issue prevented the user from being added to the Visitor's Group, which means the user would be unable to access the New Collaborate SharePoint site home page.

Solution

Run the New Collaborate Status Check to try automatically resolving the issue. If the user is still unable to be added, you will need to:

  1. In FYI, remove the user from the Sharing Settings by clicking the red X. Refer to Removing Access to the New Collaborate Client Folders.

  2. Wait at least 15 minutes.

  3. Add the user to the Sharing Settings. Refer to Sharing the New Collaborate Client and Upload Folders.
