Error "Your sign-in was successful but you don't have permission to access this resource" when accessing a document on New Collaborate

Issue

When trying to access a document shared via New Collaborate the following error is displayed:

  • Your sign-in was successful but you don't have permission to access this resource

The user is unable to access the shared documents accordingly.

Cause

Your practice has enhanced protection enabled using Microsoft 365 Lighthouse.

Solution

To allow clients to access the document, you will need to ask your Microsoft 365 Administrator to do the following:

  1. Dismiss the respective user risk by setting the risk state to dismissed
  2. Configure Microsoft to avoid the scenario in the future. This is the responsibility of your Microsoft 365 Admin; FYI is unable to provide advice on these settings.
