Commence FYI Practice Management Migration

This article discusses the process of enabling FYI Practice Management to commence the migration process from Xero Practice Manager to FYI for the first time.

All chargeable time entries for the last eighteen months will be synced from Xero Practice Manager to FYI.

• If the time entry has been invoiced, it will sync to an "Invoiced" status in FYI.
• If the time is not yet invoiced, it will sync to a "Submitted" status in FYI.
• Any unbilled time prior to the last eighteen months will be created as a new time entry when imported from the Xero Practice Manager Manager Unbilled WIP Report. Refer to Import Xero Practice Manager Unbilled WIP Report.
• Time entries will display the Source value of WIP Import. Note that time entries added prior to the evening of 30th January 2025 (Australian time) will not have a Source value.

Note: Non-billable WIP or Time and Disbursement Entries will not be imported during migration.

If you have previously run an Unbilled WIP Report and need to run an additional report, refer to Import Xero Practice Manager Unbilled WIP Report.

To commence migration:

1. In FYI, navigate to Settings - Practice Settings - Time & Invoices.
   
   
2. Click the Setup tab.
   
   
3. Click Enable Practice Management.
   
4. A message will be displayed to confirm you're ready to proceed. Click OK.
   
5. The message will be closed, and FYI will display the message "Historical time and disbursements are being synchronised".
   

Once this migration has been completed, you can progress to Import Xero Practice Manager Unbilled WIP Report.
