Error "CompactToken parsing failed with error code 80049217" displays in Status tab or when opening documents

Issue

The error "CompactToken parsing failed" appears either in the My Settings - Status tab, or when trying to open a document. 

  • CompactToken parsing failed with error code: 80049217

Solution

To resolve the issue, you will need to:

  1. Log out of FYI.

  2. Log into office.com using the same account that you log into FYI with.

  3. Log back into FYI.

  4. Click on the Settings menu and navigate to My Settings - Status to confirm the error is no longer displayed.
