Why is the text of my document unclear when using the Preview screen?

Issue

When using the setting 'Preview Office via OneDrive' in FYI, the document preview is missing detail and appears different to the original version.

Cause

The preview pane is powered by OneDrive and loads the document preview in a zoom setting of "Window Size".

This also occurs if the 'Read' button is selected which opens the document in OneDrive. Or if the document is uploaded directly into OneDrive and previewed.

As the zoom setting does not display the full detail of the document, it appears blotchy and is not clear to view.

Solution

Users can increase the zoom level by clicking the magnifying glass at the bottom of the Preview pane until the quality of the document is as expected.
