With the first quarter of the year over, April focused on enhancements designed to improve efficiency across many of our features, including Filtering, Practice Sync integrations and Elite features.

This month, Relative Filtering was introduced for Number and Decimal columns across the Jobs and Clients Lists, including Custom Fields. For Elite plan users, this capability extends to the Time, Invoices, and Employee Lists. You can now filter data using options like "Greater than or Equal to", "Less than or Equal to", "Between", and more. Using these relative filters makes it easier for you to pinpoint exactly what you're looking for, such as filtering jobs with fees above a certain amount or employees with high productivity targets. For examples of using relative filtering, refer to the Sorting and Filtering Jobs Lists.

For practices integrated with Zapier, when updating or creating clients in FYI , we've enhanced the mandatory fields to select in your zap. Depending on the configuration, either Client Email, Export Code or Client Name will be marked as a required field, ensuring your automation always trigger successfully and with the correct client data. Refer to Integration with Zapier.

Our Australia and New Zealand practices integrated with APS, saw improvements made to the Partner and Manager synchronisation. If these fields aren't populated in APS, FYI will then sync the Director to the Partner Name, and the Team Leader to the Manager. Any later updates to the Partner and Manager fields in APS will be reflected in FYI, ensuring your client data remains accurate. Refer to Synchronising Clients, Matters and Users with APS (Australia & New Zealand only).

Practices using New Collaborate can now update their SharePoint site connection more easily when changing domains. By running a New Collaborate Status Check and clicking "Fix" on any errors, links in FYI (including Client and Upload folders) are updated instantly. This ensures smoother continuity for collaboration. It's important to note that with this enhancement, any previously shared links will need to be resent to clients. Refer to Troubleshooting New Collaborate using Status Check.

For those practices that are not connected to XPM, FYI Admins can now manage users' Phone and Mobile Numbers directly within the User Profile. On Elite plans, these contact details will also appear in the Employee Summary, helping keep staff records accurate and easily accessible across the platform. Refer to Managing Users and Employee Summary.

For our practices that are on the Elite plan, improvements were made to the WIP import experience, new columns added to the Time List and more. Here is a snapshot of the enhancements made:

Improved WIP Import
When importing WIP and a matching user can’t be found, FYI now creates a "WIP Imported Inactive User". These users are clearly labelled with a unique, non-functional email address and assigned to a locked-down "Imported" group. Time entries remain searchable while maintaining data integrity in your platform. Refer to Managing WIP Imported Inactive Users.

Practices not connected to a Practice Management system can now import WIP directly into FYI using the "Import Now" option in Time & Invoices settings. This enhancement has made WIP management available to more users. Refer to Import Unbilled WIP Report.

New Column Options in Time Lists
Two new optional columns in the Time List were added this month. FYI Time ID and Source Path can now be added as columns to your time list, to help you trace every time entry to its origin. Especially useful during audits or corrections, these identifiers show where the data came from and how it’s been modified. Refer to Practice Time.

Additional Relative Filtering options for Employee List
Further improvements to the above relative filtering were made to the Employee list. Elite users can now apply Relative Filtering to “Expected Working Hours” and “Productivity Target %”, making it easier to review employee performance data, set benchmarks, or identify under/over-utilised staff. Refer to Practice Employees.

For more information on the above features and other enhancements and resolutions for this month, refer to April 2025 Release Notes.
