This article provides details on how to use the Finish Co-Edit Automation Step, so documents will not be available for editing, and removed from the New Collaborate SharePoint site or OneDrive folder.

For example, practices could use a filtered Document List to display all documents with a Co-Edit or Client Co-Edit status, and automatically finish co-editing.

The Finish Co-Edit step is only available when a Document Automation Process Filter has been selected.

Finish Co-Edit

When adding the Finish Co-Edit step to an Automation, there are no fields required to be populated. All documents matching the selected Automation Process Filter will be finished co-editing.

To adjust the view to only finish co-editing for specific documents only, refer to Sorting and Filtering Documents Lists and Saving Changes to the View Layout, Modifying and Deleting Views.

After the Automation Process has been run, an update will be displayed in the following locations:

  • Automation History - to confirm if the automation process steps were run successfully.
  • Practice Activity - displays details on the number of documents updated by status: Processed, Errors, or Pending.
  • Document Activity - an entry will be added to show the document was Finished Co-Editing.
