As we wrap up yet another incredible year, we share with you some final new features and improvements to the platform. Our team can't wait to bring you even more efficiencies and productivity tools in 2025!

To make it easier for users to identify the source of the email address for a client, updates have been made to the email displayed on the Client - Summary tab. If no client email has been entered, the Client - Summary tab will automatically display the Primary Contact's email address. New icons have been added next to the email field to indicate when the Primary Contact's email is being displayed. If no Primary Contact has been selected, the email field will remain blank without the icon, ensuring users can easily identify the source of the email address.

This month we added more functionality to the Relative Filter option on Jobs and Clients Lists, allowing users to now filter Custom Field numeric values by Greater Than or Less Than. Practices can now segment their data further, for example, where a Custom number field such as "Employees" is used on a Client or Job list, this can now be filtered by Greater Than or Less Than. The list can then be saved and used to trigger an automation process to email these specific clients.

For practices that are on the Elite plan, users can also filter these custom field number values on Invoices and Time Lists. This will be particularly useful for a practice that has an Invoice custom number field for 'Custom Payment Terms' and will easily be able to view those with specific payment terms, outside the practice's standard terms.

Practices who are integrated with Xero Practice Manager, updates were made to the synchronization frequency when changes are made to the Custom Field definitions in XPM. To ensure that that changes are captured, Custom Field definitions changed in XPM will now synchronise to FYI every 15 minutes. However, it is important to note that if the "Sync Custom Fields' option is set to "Off" in the Xero Practice Manager Automation App settings in FYI, these changes will not sync. 

As a reminder to our practices that have FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance enabled, Custom Field definitions synchronise within 15minutes, however Custom Field Values are not synchronised and must be managed directly within FYI.

Additionally, we made several enhancements to Practice Activity by providing additional alerts with greater detail when Jobs cannot be synchronised to Xero Practice Manager successfully. For example, where a Job Due Date is dated before the Start Date, the Practice Activity alert will provide more detailed information to ensure that users can efficiently troubleshoot the error. Where required, additional information has been added to the appropriate Troubleshooting section of the Help Centre.

For practices integrated with MYOB AE/AO, contact synchronisation from the Associates tab in MYOB has been improved to increase accuracy and reduce manual data management. The sync process now automatically checks each contact's End Date against the current date. If the End Date has passed, the contact is either removed from FYI (if previously already synced) or excluded from future synchronisation. Contacts from the Associates tab in MYOB where the End Date is in the future, will continue to sync until that date, ensuring records remain up to date. Additionally, if a contact is deleted from the Associates tab in MYOB, it will automatically be removed from FYI. We wrapped up the year for our Elite plan users with enhancements made to the WIP Import process. For practices with large amounts of data, it's important to contact our Support Team for assistance with the WIP Import process. An alert will now be shown to remind these practices. As an example, where a practice has more than 100,000 clients, an alert will display in the WIP Import process, and they should contact support for assistance in a smooth import process.
