As the end of the calendar year draws near, we're excited to share ongoing improvements to the FYI platform, with new integrations, new features and enhancements across many of our features. This month we have a new integration partner, new automation features to make running processes even easier, and much more!

For our Australia and New Zealand practices, this month we introduced a new integration with DASH Software, a leading financial technology company. This integration allows practices to sync documents from both FYI and DASH, simplifying document management for users. Refer to Integration with DASH Software.

For practices that use FYI as the Primary Source for Client Maintenance, several new client fields can now be updated through Bulk Update and Automation processes. These include Phone and Mobile Numbers, Address details, and Tax & Company information. Mobile and Salutation fields are also now available for those who have enabled this setting in Practice Settings. These improvements allow users to manage client data more efficiently, ensuring that client records are always up-to-date. Refer to Clients Bulk Update and Process Step Details - Updating Clients.

This month a new feature was released for our Pro and Elite plans, "Run Automations from Lists", making it easier to execute manual automation processes directly from lists such as clients, jobs or documents. This saves practices time by allowing users to trigger from the workspace list, without having to navigate to the Automation workspace. FYI Admins will need to enable permissions first, for users to be able to use this feature. Refer to Setting up Custom Processes and Managing User Groups.

Another significant update for FYI Elite and Pro users is the ability to manage Primary Contacts directly from within FYI. Users can now easily assign and update the primary contact for each client, with clear indicators displayed on the client’s contact tab. This feature enhances client data by ensuring that the right contact is marked as the primary contact for communications. Refer to Client Contacts and Nominating the Primary Contact for a Client.

For FYI Elite Plans, there were many enhancements to their platform:

  • New filters have been added to the Jobs and Invoices Lists, enabling more refined searches based on values like "Greater Than" or "Less Than." These filters allow users to narrow down job or invoice data and save these customized views for future use, which can be applied in automation processes for tasks like creating progress invoices. These enhanced filtering options offer a more granular approach to job and invoice management. Refer to Sorting and Filtering Jobs Lists.
  • Bulk updating Time and Disbursements has been made even easier. Now, users can easily update interim time entries that have not been invoiced. Changes can be made to fields like client, job, and notes. Refer to Managing Work in Progress - WIP.
  • We have improved the flexibility of time entry updates within automation processes. Now, when bulk updating time entries, users can modify the date of entries, as long as they do not fall within a locked period. This improvement is especially useful for users managing large volumes of time entries and ensures smoother workflow automation. Refer to Time and Disbursements Bulk Update.
  • The WIP Import functionality has been improved, now performing the import process every 15minutes. This ensures that when an FYI Admin uploads the WIP Import file, the system will begin processing the request within 15 minutes, no longer having to wait for the overnight process. One the process is complete, an even is logged in Practice Activity for easy tracking. Refer to Import Xero Practice Manager Unbilled WIP Report.

For further details on the features mentioned above, and other enhancements, refer to November 2024 Release Notes.
