We can't believe that six months of the year have already passed us by. With that, our team have been focusing on developing new features and improvements. This month saw a new integration added to our list of app partners and continued enhancements to the platform, including added efficiency with adding time, grouping and significant updates to our Elite Plan.
We are excited to announce this month, a new integration with Apxium, an accounts receivable software. Practices integrated with Apxium will be able to automatically file their engagements directly to FYI, adding to the efficiency of document management in their platform. To enable the integration with Apxium, the practice will first need to contact the Apxium Support Team. Refer to Integration with Apxium.
A new User Group Permission was introduced to Practice settings, called Export Client List. We understand the importance of security, and this new option ensures only users with this permission are able to export client lists from your platform. By default, FYI Admins are the only users with this permission. An FYI Admin can add this permission to a designated User Group, refer to Managing User Groups.
This month we made significant improvements to the way that users can add their time entries to FYI. When adding Time, users now have an option to use decimals or whole numbers to record their time even quicker. As an example, the added functionality means you can now record a 6-minute increment of time by simply typing 0.1, using the decimal feature. This would return display in hours and minutes, as 00:06. Whole numbers can now also be used. For example 130 would convert to 01:30. To learn more about the new time entry formats refer to Time Overview.
We've made enhancements to the way that you manage and display your Custom Fields in FYI. Custom fields can now be both Grouped and Ordered:
- Grouping Custom Fields - An FYI Admin has the ability to create a specific grouping structure, and add the specific custom fields to that group. This allows users when viewing custom fields for clients or jobs, to see these in a group view. As an example, your custom fields could be grouped with headings such as Team, Office, Services, and Workflow. Learn more on Grouping Custom Fields.

Ordering Custom Fields - custom fields can also now be ordered, making it easier to set a hierarchy in the particular order you wish. Your FYI Admin can order these custom fields from Practice Settings and the order will then display for all users in the Custom Fields tab of a client or job workspace. Refer to Managing Custom Fields.
Further improvements were made for those practices that are on our Elite plan:
- A new "copy" button will be displayed in the Time lists, allowing users to now copy timesheet entries. This is available in both Client and Job workspaces and Practice - Time. An FYI user can now copy their time entries, making it easier to complete their time, such as annual leave, administrative tasks or where the same activity may have been completed for multiple clients in one day. Refer to Copy a Time Entry.
- When updating a Billing Job to a completed, cancelled or archived state, this will now automatically update any associated Workflow Jobs to the same state. This means that you no longer have to manually update the Workflow Job state, adding even more time saving when completing your jobs in FYI. Refer to Using the Job Drawer.
- Further enhancements have been made to the way that Elite practices can manage their custom fields:
- An FYI Admin now has the ability to delete Custom Fields that were created by an integration with their practice management software, such as Xero Practice Manager. Refer to Managing Custom Fields.
- For Elite Practices with FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance enabled, updates made to Custom Fields will now be synchronised faster with Xero Practice Manager. Any update to a custom field made in FYI will now sync with Xero Practice Manager within 15 minutes.
- More information regarding invoicing has been added to the Job - Summary tab, making it easier to track the progress of a job. Both Invoiced Amount and Variance Hours fields are now available in the Financial Details of the Job - Summary tab. Refer to Job Summary.
- When viewing a Report a new Details section has been added to the drawer, that displays details including the Template that was used, the Views selected and the Last Refresh date. Refer to Opening, Editing and Finishing Editing Reports.
