Why does the Preview and Read for a PDF always show the page number as 1?

When using Preview or Read for a multi-page PDF file, the page number never changes from 1 when scrolling the PDF file and it does not show the total number of pages. 

This is a limitation of Microsoft.

The Preview pane and the Read pane in FYI are provided by Microsoft 365.
