How can I remove the FYI Add-ins?

The following article provides instructions on how to remove the FYI Add-in from Outlook or Office. 

If the Remove option isn't displayed, this feature may have been restricted by your IT administrators.

By removing the Add-Ins, you will be unable to file your emails in FYI directly from Outlook, or documents from Word, Excel or PowerPoint. Refer to Managing Emails from Outlook and Accessing FYI from within Office.


Office 365 (June 2023 Update)

  1. In Outlook, click the Home tab.
  2. Click Get add-ins.
  3. Click the My add-ins tab on the left.
  4. Locate FYI for Outlook.
  5. Click the three dots to manage the add-in.
  6. Click Remove.

Removing FYI Add-in from Outlook

  1. In Outlook, click File.
  2. Towards the bottom of Accounts Information click Manage Add-ins.
  3. You will be redirected to your Outlook Web Access which will open an "Add-ins for Outlook" window.
  4. Click My Add-ins.
  5. Under Admin-managed add-ins, look for "FYI for Outlook".
  6. Click the three dots and select Remove.

Alternatively, click the link below while logged in to Outlook Web Access to go directly to Add-ins for Outlook.

Microsoft Office

  1. Open the Office application (for example, Word or Excel)
  2. Click Add-ins from the Ribbon in Home.
  3. Hover your mouse over "FYI for Office" and click the three dots, and select Remove.
    If you have multiple FYI Add-ins, continue with the following steps.
  4. Click More Add-ins.
  5. You may find multiple FYI for Office Add-in list. Ensure you check My Add-ins, My Organisation and Admin Managed tabs.
  6. From "My Add-ins" tab, select one of the duplicated add-ins and click the three dots. Select Remove.
  7. Finish editing and close the document.
