How do I add the 'Mobile number' for a Client?

For all practices, the Mobile field will default to the Primary Contact's mobile number, or remain blank if no Primary Contact is selected.

For practices where FYI as Primary is enabled, the client can be edited to add a Mobile Number, overriding the default Primary Contact details.

Where FYI as Primary for Client Maintenance is enabled, practices will be able to manage the Mobile Number for both clients and Primary Contacts directly within FYI.

Editing a Client

Entering a Mobile Number for the client will override the default Primary Contact details. Refer to Editing Client Details

Note: For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, Mobile Numbers entered at a client level will not be synchronised.

In the Primary Contact details

If a client's Mobile has not been entered, the Mobile Number will default to the Primary Contact's mobile. Refer to Nominating the Primary Contact for a Client.

Updating the Mobile for Integrated Practice Management Solutions

Xero Practice Manager

In Xero Practice Manager, the client's phone number is held in the Client information. 

The Mobile number is not part of the general information of the client, and will use the mobile number associated with the Primary Contact for the client. 

Note: It's recommended to ensure a Primary Contact is selected in Xero Practice Manager. Without one, Xero Practice Manager will send the details of the first contact in the list.

Use the following to add the client's Mobile number in XPM:

  1. In Xero Practice Manager, click on Client's tab.
  2. Click + Add Contact on the right-hand side in Contacts.

  3. Fill out the details in the 'New Contact' window. Enter the client name as the Contact Name.

  4. Tick the check box to set the contact as 'Set as primary contact'.

  5. Click Save

Note: You can leave the Phone Number blank as the phone number would already be held in the general information for the Client.

Other Practice Management platforms

For all other integrated practice management platforms, for example CCH or IRIS, please refer to your software provider for more information.
