Xero Integration

FYI works closely with Xero to deliver a comprehensive feature set and seamless integration.

  • For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, your Clients, Jobs and Team are instantly imported from Xero Practice Manager and continuously synchronised in FYI.
  • Your Client’s Tax Returns are also automatically retrieved from Xero Tax and filed in FYI.

Additional automations based on FYI’s integration with Xero can also be configured to suit your practice.

Synchronising with Xero Practice Manager

For practices integrated with Xero Practice Manager, FYI synchronizes with Xero Practice Manager on a daily basis and updates information related to your Clients, Staff and Jobs.

This means you don’t have to maintain data in multiple locations.

Xero Practice Manager continues to be your single source of truth for client information. Any change in Xero Practice Manager is automatically reflected in FYI.

Refer to Synchronising Clients, Staff, Jobs, Time, Tax Returns with Xero Practice Manager and Running a Manual Sync with Xero Practice Manager and Additional Notes on Syncing.

Xero Tax Automations

The Xero - Tax Return process automatically files batches of all tax returns received electronically via Xero Tax. This calls out to Xero Tax on a scheduled daily basis to retrieve all newly issued returns since the process was last run.

Refer to Enabling Xero Tax Integration (Australia Only), Xero Tax Return AutoFile (Australia Only) and Displaying the Auto-Filed Tax Returns.

Xero Ledger Automations

The automation engine in FYI provides the ability to import and AutoFile batches of reports from your Client’s Xero Ledger.

Reports that can be automated are:

  • Balance Sheet
  • Bank Summary
  • Budget Summary
  • Executive Summary (currently in Beta)
  • Profit and Loss
  • Trial Balance
  • With a single click, all reports are automatically named and filed in FYI according to practice preference.

Refer to Client Ledger Reports AutoFile (Australia and UK).

Note: We are working with Xero to extend the list of reports that can be automated including the uncoded statements report.
