Error "Custom Field failed to import due to name conflict"

Issue

When synchronising Custom Fields with Xero Practice Manager, the following error is displayed:

  • Custom Field (name) failed to import due to name conflict. Rename the Custom Field in FYI or XPM to avoid the conflict.

Cause

A new Custom Field has been created with a name that matches an existing Custom Field in either FYI or Xero Practice Manager.

Solution

You will need to rename the Custom Field with a unique name before synchronising the details again.
