Why has the Job State reverted after synchronising with Xero Practice Manager?


I have updated the Job State for a job in FYI, but after synchronising with Xero Practice Manager the Job State has reverted back to the previous state.

An error may or may not be displayed in Practice Activity, for example, "Error updating Job State - Bad Request".


To understand the cause, you will need to perform some troubleshooting steps.

  1. Open the Job and check the Activity tab, and note the date and time the Job State was changed, and also when it was reverted.

  2. Check Practice Activity to determine if any errors occurred when the Job State was set and when it was reverted. For example, the issue could be related to:


  1. If there was an error reported in Practice Activity, follow the instructions in the article above to resolve the issue.
  2. If there was no error reported in Practice Activity, change the Job State again in FYI, then open Xero Practice Manager to confirm the changes have been applied.

  3. Wait until the next day, and review the Job in FYI to see if the changes have been reverted. 

  4. Review if Xero Practice Manager, or any other third-party apps synchronised with Xero Practice Manager, have overwritten the changes. If so, you will need to contact their support team to discuss why this occurs.
