Error "Collaborate has not been configured for this client" when using Share No Email with New Collaborate

Issue

When trying to use "Share No Email" with a client, error FYI-2135 is displayed:

  • Collaborate has not been configured for this client. Please update the client's Collaborate Sharing Settings and try again.

Cause

When adding a client using Share No Email, Collaborate requires an email address to configure the sharing permissions on the New Collaborate SharePoint site.

If the Sharing Settings have not been configured for the client, i.e. the client hasn't been added using the Sharing Settings button, or there is no primary email address on the Client Summary screen, the permissions will not be able to be configured, and the error will be displayed.

Note: An email address is required even when you aren't emailing the client immediately, as Collaborate requires an email address to configure the sharing permissions on the New Collaborate SharePoint site.

Solution

To resolve the issue you will need to:

  1. You will need to add an email address to the client account, displayed on the Client Summary tab. Refer to Client Summary

  2. Add the client to the Sharing Settings. Refer to Sharing the Share Folder and Upload Folder with Clients.

  3. Re-run the New Collaborate Status Check to confirm there are no further issues. Refer to Checking your New Collaborate Status.

To use Share No Email without a client email address, we recommend adding a related client or contact's email address into the Sharing Settings. The client folders will be created, and you will be able to begin using the "Share No Email" to upload documents into the client folder on the New Collaborate SharePoint site, but without emailing a link to the clients.
