Configure Microsoft to allow users to request approval when prompted to accept permissions

When setting up New Collaborate as the practice's OneDrive admin you may receive an error message when prompted to accept additional permissions by Microsoft. This is generally because you're IT Administrator has restricted the ability to authorise app permissions on behalf of the organisation.

Note: The following instructions are best performed by an IT professional, or by someone in your practice who has advanced knowledge of the policies implemented on your Microsoft Tenant. Incorrect configuration of these settings may result in users being able to approve permissions for unwanted apps. FYI does not take any responsibility for issues caused by an incorrect configuration.

To configure Microsoft to allow users to request approval when prompted to accept permissions, you will need to do the following:

  1. Turn on user consent. Refer to the Microsoft article Managing user consent to apps in Microsoft 365.

  2. Configure the admin consent workflow. Refer to the Microsoft article Configure the admin consent workflow.

  3. Manage consent to applications. Refer to the Microsoft article Manage consent to applications and evaluate consent requests.

For further details, or if you're unsure how to complete these steps, please refer to your IT Administrator.
